The lion named Sheila has yet to meet you. Sheila is a stunning lioness who worked as a show animal at private parties for most of her life. Her health began to deteriorate, though. Her caretaker could not afford her regular veterinary treatment, but animal rights activists, fortunately, saved her. Sad to say, it seemed like Sheila was far too gone by that point. Her new caretakers felt that perhaps they had to put her down. Until there was a miracle…

Saving Sheila

Sheila was one of the lions saved by the Agriculture Department of the United States in July 2009. That year, almost all of the lions were in bad condition, but it was exceedingly terrible for Sheila. She was lighter than the air, weak, and frail. Her rescuers thought she had almost no chance, yet they took a gamble and still helped her. They wanted to enable her at least to get better.

The Suffering Lion

Sheila was rescued from an entertainment center in Texas. Her task was to give her employer a lot of money by performing at high-profile events and parties. Sheila was not the only lion in this entertainment center, but she was the lion with the most involvement and suffering. Sheila’s caretaker was exceptionally cruel to his lions. “Once they’re no longer useful for this as well, he’ll throw them away and stop caring for them,” Keahey, Founder of In-Sync Organization, said.
